Song of a sweet meadow

Sweet Meadow

I don't think that I have been here before
Think I'll take a walk in the field
I hear the birds have returned
See the light hit the floor
See the bluebells, so lovely
How I do adore

Oh, my sweet
Oh, my sweet meadow
And I remember a time so unkind, sweet meadow
but It's not here today

Take a breath of the sweet air
Like honey, it heals
Never dreamed I would know how it feels

Oh, my sweet
Oh, my sweet meadow
And I remember a time so unkind, sweet meadow
but It's not here today

Honey n' oats

Untitled These are a few of the most natural ingredients you can find. The key ingredient in this recipe is honey.  I absolutely love honey. Not only is it delicious but it truly is a natural healer. Honey has been known for ages to heal and moisturize. One fine day I gave it a try and mixed it with a few other natural ingredients that have been sworn to heal, and made the remedy into a facial masque. I am going to testify that this really does work for my skin and continues to heal scarring I've had for years. I recommend making a batch and storing it in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Apply it on your face each night (or as often as possible)for at least a month. You should certainly notice some healing. I can't wait to share how simple it is to concoct!

What you will need:
1/2 Cup oats
1/4 Cup honey
1 Egg yolk
1 Teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Untitled First, grind oats in a coffee grinder or blender. You may also leave them whole. However, grinding them will give the mixture a much creamier texture and make the masque easier to apply. I have done it both ways!
Untitled Blend all ingredients together in a blender until mixed thoroughly and moist. Untitled

Apply as much as you desire to face and leave  it on for fifteen minutes. Once finished, wash with warm water and pat dry with a towel. You will notice your skin feeling soft, moisturized and replenished!

Homegrown and sweet.

I am so excited to showcase my delectable fruits and vegetables I got from the local farmer's market this past weekend. I have been telling myself for far too long that I need to get myself up early enough on a Saturday and buy some local, homegrown goods. Thankfully, with encouragement from a friend who was equally as excited as me, I was able to finally make this goal happen! They are not just beautiful to look at but they taste like nothing you will ever buy from a grocery store. Nothing will ever compare. All of the people there who grew their own produce had so much passion for it, and were so excited to see others buy and enjoy it. It only fueled my passion all the more to desire a simple life, a small farm, and a garden. I love the satisfaction of knowing what I am consuming, and I love the passion and hard work that goes into it. My favorite find for the day was the Black Sage honey grown in the local hills behind my house. Black Sage honey is a special kind of honey grown only in California. Not only is it delicious and grown here in California, but the Black Sage plant needs 15 inches of rainfall for the honey to actually be produced. This special fact is what talked me into buying this particular honey. There were also different tasty flavors such as Orange. I love honey so much. I have experienced it's healing remedies in more ways than one! It has healed my sore throats, and my scarred and dry skin. It is simply the best and I swear by it. I will be posting a face masque in the future that is very simple and Organic as well, and has proven to work on my skin. As for now, here are the wonderful things I tried, and a recipe I concocted for the most marvelous sweet potato fries that I had been craving! Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled
Now onto the yummiest, healthy, sweet potato fries!

What you will need:
-Two Sweet potatoes (I used two but you can always use more and double the recipe gauging it to your liking.)
-A vegetable peeler
-A large bowl
-1 tablespoon of olive oil
-1 tablespoon of seasoning of your choice ( I used Cajun seasoning and a sprinkle of cinnamon)
-1 tablespoon of honey (organic honey is the best! I used Black Sage from the local hills)
-1/2 tablespoon of salt
-A baking pan lined with foil

*Preheat oven.
You can preheat to 450 degrees or 500 (I did 500 because I prefer them to be on the crispy side) Untitled Then, peel potatoes and chop off ends Untitled Cut potatoes in half and chop into desired size( I like them best when they are chopped thinner): Untitled Mix potatoes in a large bowl with olive oil, seasoning, honey, and salt using your hands to make sure fries are completely covered: Untitled Spread fries out on baking sheet: Untitled Bake for 15 minutes. Take out of oven, flip fries and cook other side for an additional 15 minutes: Untitled Make sure you monitor them so they don't burn ( Mine almost did!) Untitled And there you have it! Homegrown, healthy, simple, yet delicious sweet potato fries!
